An Indian man finally severed his 31-foot-long fingernails — after letting them grow for 66 years — and sold the claws to Ripley’s Believe It or Not! in Times Square.
Shridhar Chillal — who began his oddball hobby as a teenager in 1952 — traveled from Pune, India, to New York City to have his nails cut and displayed at the museum.
“Ripley’s is privileged to display this truly unique and one-of-a-kind exhibit. Mr. Chillal dedicated his life to something truly remarkable and Ripley’s is the perfect home to honor his legacy,” Ripley’s Suzanne Smagala-Potts said.
Despite his abnormally long nails, Chillal got married, had two kids and worked as a government press photographer.
