Chimamanda Adichie has once again sent the internet into frenzy.
While speaking with former US president candidate, Hillary Clinton at a PEN World voices Festival lecture at the Cooper Union in Manhattan, the opinionated author asked Hillary why her Twitter account begins with ‘Wife’.
“in your Twitter account, the first word describes you is “wife’ and then I think it’s Mom and then it’s Grandmother. And when i saw that I must confess I felt a little bit upset. And then i looked at your husband’s account, the first was not ‘husband’ she said to the former Flotus.
To which Hillary responded said, “when you put it like that, I’m going to change it”. She however quickly added that women should be able to celebrate both their personal and professional achievements quoting the former first Lady, Brabra Bush who said:.
“At the end of the day, it won’t matter if you got a raise, it won’t matter if you wrote a great book, if you are not also someone who values relationship”.
The internet is also divided over the author’s comment.
