On Thursday, Mitchell Obama attended the Simmons leadership conference in Boston where she, not surprisingly, had harsh words for president Donald Trump.
While speaking to Smmons President, Helen Drinan, the former first lady compared Trump’s presidency to that of her husband, Barak Obama, using an interesting and accurate metaphor.
According to people, the 54 years old exclaimed: “for good eight years Barak was president, it was like having the good parent at home. The responsible parent, the one who told you to eat your carrots and go to bed on time. Now we have the other parent. We thought it’d feel fun, maybe it feels fun now because we can eat candy all day and stay up late, and not follow the rules”
Speaking of Barack, Mitchell also mused on her husband’s eight years in office.
” I think what I’ve learned from my husband, i’ve learned watching him be a leader… And a lot what I’ve learned about temperament and patience really comes from him. I think he was born with that DAN. What I learned is that as he said, the arc of history is long, and what we’re here to do is to make a mark. And do what you do because you know it’s the right thing to do not because you’ll get credit for it”.
